Every participant is required to wear their bib at all times during the race. Participants found to have interchanged their timing bib tag with another individual, will be disqualified from the event and shall not be allowed to apply or participate in subsequent editions of the event. Please note if you don’t wear your timing bib tag as instructed, you won’t be able to get an official finish time, medal and e-certificate.

Failure to complete any one segment i.e., swimming, cycling or running leads to disqualification.  However, in the event that a participant is unable to complete one of the segments of the race and wishes to continue the race without timings, they may do so after informing the nearest race official. Such a participant will be labelled as a DNF on the official race timings.

No participant shall accept from any person (other than a race official/volunteer) physical assistance in any form, including food, drink, equipment, support, pacing, a replacement cycle or cycle parts, unless an exception has been granted and approved in writing by Enduro Sports Goa. Any participant found to receive unauthorized assistance will be time penalised by 15 minutes. The receipt of information regarding progress, timings or location of other competitors on the race course shall not be considered the acceptance of unauthorized assistance. Official pacers will be available to Olympic distance runners from 12 p.m. onwards (i.e. after ranking cut-off timings for both males and females) as purely morale boosters in an effort to promote this sport amongst new amateur athletes.

There are specific finish cut-off timings for each category. Triathlon is an Olympic sport. The Goa Triathlon falls in the Olympic category; distances are set as per Olympic guidelines. The distances are 1.5km Swim, 40km Cycle and 10km Run.
The event organisers will try and make a few bicycles available for out of town participants, but these will be mostly MTBs. We encourage every participant to bring their own bicycle.
Like most coastal cities, the weather in Goa is controlled by the sea, it’s never too hot nor too cold, early morning land temperatures in February hover around 27 degrees Celsius, the water rarely gets cooler than 25 degrees Celsius.

Very! Bambolim beach is Goa’s safest beach; the organisers themselves swim on this beach every weekend. The sea at Bambolim lies within a protected cove of the Zuari Bay, has small waves, and is not subject to strong tidal variations. We also have all possible rescue equipment like jet skis, kayaks, motor boats, trained lifeguards and doctors on the site.

But notwithstanding the above, regular precautions taken during an open water swim need to be maintained: No swimming under the influence of alcohol or drugs, obey lifeguards’ instructions completely and immediately, use a proper sunscreen, and try to get acclimatised to the environment before the event.

Yes, the organisers will be holding regular weekend sea orientation programs from the first week of November onwards. Please feel free to get in touch with us should you feel like enrolling

According to the rules, wet suits may be worn only if the water temperature is 25 degrees Celsius or less. Maximum wet suit thickness allowed is 5mm. Participants may wear a wet suit in water temperatures higher than 25 degrees Celsius up to 29 degrees Celsius, but will not qualify for rankings if they do so.

Besides, you may start overheating in a wet suit after some time, especially once the sun comes up. A regular swimsuit is best!

Participants are allowed to wear Tri-Suits. The difference between the two is that wet suits are made of Neoprene, and give a measure of buoyancy in the swimming leg, whereas Tri-Suits are made of fabric and do not give any extra buoyancy.

Yes, you can take as many breaks as you wish while swimming, you are not permitted to hold on to moving water craft, however there will be plenty of static flotation devices available to hold on to should you wish to relax. Please note that stopping to rest may compromise your overall timings/ result
The terrain is proper tarred roads with a few gradients (see map)
Like any endurance sport, a triathlon demands a fairly high degree of physical fitness. If you any doubts about your fitness levels please contact your doctor for advice.
Yes, you have just one head, please protect it.
No, since all events take place together, you can take part in only one
The organisers have applied to the authorities to close the roads for most of the event. However, motorists in Goa are not renowned for their discipline, so it is best to assume that the roads will be left open and train accordingly.
No, please register for the event at the earliest, due to open water safety regulations we will not accept more participants than is safe for us to manage. Registrations close once that target is reached.
